SKID, a Mumbai-based interior design consultancy, was established in 2010 by Shweta Kaushik, an award-winning interior designer, product designer, and stylist. Shweta holds advanced degrees in design and art from Domus Academy, Italy, and the University of Wales, and has spent over 18 years shaping diverse projects across categories of Hospitality, Retail, Commercial, Institutional, Exhibition, Residential and Product Design.

“I love that I’ve designed across so many design sectors and sizes. The smallest thing I’ve designed is a chocolate bar and the largest thing is a mall!”

However, it's in the hospitality sector where Shweta has truly made a lasting impact, crafting some of the most Instagram-worthy restaurant designs in Mumbai and beyond. Her portfolio boasts iconic projects like Woodside Inn, Bayroute, Bhawan, Tresind & Hitchki. Her distinctive style blends bold, modern elements with subtle cultural influences, creating spaces that are both striking and inviting.

Shweta's thoughtful approach to hospitality design emphasises creating layered experiences that leave a lasting impression on patrons. Her commitment to customised materials and cohesive storytelling sets her work apart. In recognition of her contributions, she has been featured in top publications and named among the Top 50 designers of the next generation by Architects and Interiors India, and dubbed the "Doyenne of Restaurant Design" by Surface Magazine.

Shweta remains grounded in her commitment to her clients. She believes that every project is an opportunity to learn, collaborate, and explore new ideas. Her success, she says, stems from her love of design and the relationships she builds with her clients and teams.

“I am but a medium through which a client’s dreams and visions are realised. I am invested to ensure that the spaces we design bring joy to all.”

Driven by a passion for thoughtful, innovative spaces, Shweta approaches each project with the belief that great design is about more than aesthetics—it’s about creating environments that resonate with the people who use them.
